zosia{extravote 4} Zosia Jo's 'Herstory' is part spoken word, part dance: Zosia wanted to find a way to bring together her performance poetry and choreography, and the result is an engaging and endearing show which is accessible to all.

Herstory is accompanied by a voiceover narrating the course of a relationship as it degenerates to a shocking end, interspersed by Zosia's interjections, observations and insights, such as very honest and somewhat awkward wedding vows.

Zosia's choreography is sometimes a physical accompaniment to the text, while Zosia's solos relate to the text's themes; Herstory's text provides the movement with context, making Zosia a very engaging and compelling performer to watch.

Herstory is a very simple, understated work which aims to please and engage and succeeds. With all the more dazzling works on offer at this year's Fringe, let's hope that this little gem isn't overlooked.
