Joseph Toonga

01  Just Us Dance Company  Picture Perfect  001 (Jui-Wei Hung)Sunday 7 July. Joseph Toonga founded Just Us Dance Theatre in 2007, and in its first few years, the company performed at a variety of dance festivals such as Outspoken Dance and Connect Festival at Lilian Baylis, Scoop and Live Vibe at the Peacock Theatre. In late 2010, Joseph Toonga was awarded the Blueprint Bursary which was funded by East London Dance, London Youth Dance and Sadler’s Wells allowing the company to perform at The Place Theatre, ArtsDepot, Greenwich Dance Agency and Stratford Circus.

DSC 0289Friday 5 July. AniCo. is a recently formed company under the direction of Anna-Lise Marie Hearn. Her work has been developing over the past few years during her training at London Studio Centre. The work of the company is complex, strong and physically articulate. Anna-Lise hopes to push the future development of the company, and strives to continue to create work with AniCo.

B-Hybrid Dance

photo 4Sunday 7 July. B-Hybrid Dance was founded in 2012 by Irish native Brian Gillespie and is formed by a pool of stylistically-diverse dancers. Brian produces contemporary dance that is inspired and crafted from the hybrid of influences, experiences, and interests that the company's members have collected and practiced.

Ceyda Tanc Dance

CTD2 sSunday 7 July. Ceyda Tanc Dance is an emerging contemporary dance company led by Artistic Director and Choreographer, Ceyda Tanc.

The company focuses on creating cutting edge and dynamic contemporary dance works, with influence of traditional Turkish folk dance. Ceyda Tanc combines the knowledge gained during her contemporary dance training with the dance style of her heritage to create a unique movement vocabulary.

Ella Mesma

ellaFriday 5 & Sunday 7 July. Ella joined Russell Maliphant Company in 2011 and has just completed an International tour with the company performing in ‘The Rodin Project’- which explores the sculptor Rodin's work using a fusion of Contemporary and each dancers individual style. She was also a paid professional in the Olympic opening ceremony 2012.

Ella Robson Guilfoyle

DSC 0174Friday 5 July. Ella Robson Guilfoyle trained as a dancer at Laban. Graduating in 2004 she has gone on to create a variety of work with an interest in cross discipline performance. Her highly physical vocabulary aims to energise and evolve, seeking new ways to use movement for storytelling.

Gary Rowntree | Dance based in Belfast, Northern Ireland is a dance theatre company that strives to challenge the possibilities of contemporary dance. The company works with professionally trained dancers to create and perform original choreography that is performed across the UK and Ireland.

Hana Saotome

DSC 1961Saturday 6 July. Hana Saotome trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. She has performed and toured throughout Europe and the UK with various companies and independent choreographers, including Beyond Repair Dance, Movement Angol Dance Company  and Dancing Nikita Company.  Hana has also created many of her own choreographies and solo performances that have been successfully received in various London theatres, dance festivals and events.

Ieva Kuniskis

FREE TO FALL FEB13 0584 Ludo de CognetsSunday 7 July. Ieva began dancing in Vilnius, Lithuania where, inspired by her father’s work in mime, she explored movement and theatre before taking up dance training. She now lives and creates in London, occasionally performing in other choreographers’ work.

James Finnemore

After graduation James worked with Carte Blanche, The national company of Norway, performing works by Club Guy and Roni, La Intrusa Danza, Hofesh Shechter and Kristin & Yoshi Inao. From 2010 - 2013 James was part of Hofesh Shechter Company, performing Uprising/In Your Rooms and Political Mother on national and international tours.

James's own recent works The Age and Patriot have been performed at various UK venues as well as in Spain and Croatia, the latter winning 'best choreographic direction' at ACT Festival Bilbao.

John Ross

DSC 0724Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 July. John Ross graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2011 with a 1st Class Hons. Since then he has been commissioned to create many works, including a musical for Old Vic New Voices (for which he received a nomination by What's On Stage for their Best Choreographer Award), Dance United and The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance.

IMG 2145Saturday 6 July. A very newly formed company, this piece will be our first as a group. An avid choreographer, recently graduated from college, I wish to have a platform, simply a chance, to create explore ideas and present a concept which I fully believe and support. While my political and moral views have stimulated this work, my emotion and passion have driven the intention further.

Adam Kirkham and Merritt Moore

Saturday 6 July. Adam Kirkham, currently with BalletBoyz, was a soloist with the Peter Schaufuss Ballet from 2007 to 2010. He will be continuing with BalletBoyz and is honoured to be working with Russell Maliphant next season to guest perform around the world. Adam was on full scholarship at English National Ballet School and has trained with Nederlands Dans Theater over the summers. He too was invited to perfrom at TEDx Oxford.

Paolo Mangiola

paoloFriday 5 July. Paolo Mangiola is a dancer, choreographer and dance educator based in London, currently working as a freelance in Europe. Paolo started his dance training in 1989 at the Italian Secondary Music Conservatory, he later attended the Diploma School of Art and in 2000 graduated from the Accademia MAS, Milano.

Raymond Chai

pic12Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 July. Born in Malaysia, Raymond Chai has worked in television, musical theatre and classical ballet.

He danced with the National Ballet of Portugal and in musical theatre productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company; the London Palladium; Royal National Theatre and Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, as well as in Stuttgart, Hamburg and Zurich. His credits for German television include Tatort and Zorc and he choreographed for the UK television show, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet for the BBC.

Sol Dans

soldans1Friday 5 July. Sol Dans is the UK's premier contemporary jazz dance company. Sol Dans was founded in 2007 by American choreographer Melody Squire as a platform to facilitate the creation of new dance works with her peers. Since its formation, Sol Dans has performed at some of the UK's most prestigious platforms including Resolution! at the Robin Howard Dance Theatre, Lilian Baylis Theatre at Sadlers Wells and with Cloud Dance Festival at Jacksons Lane, People Show, Cochrane Theatre and Pleasance Theatre. Sol Dans continues to capture audience’s imaginations by delivering performing art that is accessible to the public.
