The big excitement of this week is La La La Human Steps, opening tonight at Sadlers Wells, although they're not the only company to catch in London in the upcoming week. Dance Umbrella opens this weekend, with its extended tribute to Merce Cunningham, as his company visits London for the last time before being disbanded.

After all these months of waiting, and the ever-building excitement, Canadian company La La La Human Steps are here at last , with only four chances to see them!
 
Performing their first new work for 4 years, to celebrate over 30 years since their founding, 'New Work' will "bring together two great tragic operas; Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice." 
 
We have no idea what to expect, but we can't wait to see it!

Already accumulating rave reviews, Akram Khan's latest solo DESH sees him collaborating with an Oscar-winning visual artist, Michael Hulls (celebrated lighting designer from Russell Maliphant's 'Afterlight'), Indian writer and poet Karthika Nair and British slam poet Polar Bear. There's still a few chances left to catch Balanchine's much-loved triple bill, performed by some of Royal Ballet's finest dancers. Tamara Rojo and Mara Galeazzi star in the Romantic 'Emeralds', Zenaida Yanowsky and Steven McRae in the jazzier 'Rubies' - and it's worth going just to watch Alina Cojocaru or Marianela Nuñez in the Sleeping Beauty-esque 'Diamonds'.
