Jolice Truter is a dancer form South Africa and lives in London. Her company is called Alice Imagines. It is structured as a base for the further development of her career. She trained in Australia and has performed with Ballet and Contemporary Companies and is currently freelancing. She is also an experienced ballet and Pilates Teacher.
She has performed with the Welsh National Opera, Royal Opera, The place
and London College of Fashion amongst others in the UK but, also with
the South African State Theatre and Dance Factory in RSA. This is her
debut as a choreographer. ‘I enjoy being part of a creative process.
Passion inspires me.’
Beyond Repair Dance formed in 2006 under the
co-direction of Jane Coulston and Matthew Howells.
Following the success of their debut work 'Beyond Repair' premiered at
the Place's Robin Howard Theatre the company have performed extensively
throughout England and Wales, while leading numerous workshops and
residency programs.

Cloud Dance aims to act as a bridge between the practice of dance and professional dance companies – giving artists the opportunity to train and performance under the auspices of a company while also pursuing other prospects that come their way.
We are not a dance company; we are friends. This piece was presented at
Middlesex University in January 2008 as part of my MA in Choreography
and was marked with a distinction. Performers come from various art
backgrounds (music, dance, performance art) and not everybody was
trained in dance.
Danai Pappa is a London based artist. Was born in Greece, trained in
ballet and contemporary dance and holds three degrees (Dance Teaching,
Museum Studies, Archaeology). She has collaborated with dancers,
choreographers and visual artists with a special interest in
site-specific performances.
Danielle Griffin and Dancers was formed a year ago. In the last year
they have performed at Laban, Sadler's Wells' Lillian Baylis Theatre
and as part of Scratch Festival 2008 and Cloud Dance Festival: A Quiet Night In. They have performed live with the Allegri String Quartet.
The company
believes that everyone has a creativity that should be valued; all
works are therefore created collaboratively between choreographer and
dancers.
The company is currently rehearsing for the Edinburgh Fringe
as part of Foretaste Contemporary Dance Company.
Etta Ermini Dance Theatre has been founded in 2004 by choreographer and director Etta Ermini.
The physical theatre/dance theatre pieces are choreographed by Etta Ermini and devised in collaboration with the performers. The work is based on narrative stimuli and a quirky, humorous and highly individual movement vocabulary is created through improvisation. Elements of the Absurd Theatre are explored through character-based acting as well as through strong physical movement sequences. The scripts are inspired by real events and the mood of the work is often quirky and comical.
FFIN Dance is a
professional repertory dance company which presents work touring throughout
Wales and London. Another arm of the company is Dance Faktry which is an
education and outreach programme.
What makes FFIN
Dance totally unique is that it is the only professional dance company in
residence in the south Wales valleys.
FFIN Dance has triggered a rapidly growing dance
culture in Blaenau Gwent, boasting some of the largest modern dance audiences
in Wales - and it's all outside of Cardiff!
iRONiNC is a collective of dancers, composers, writers, musicians and
actors. They work collaboratively under the direction of Jennifer Irons
to create engaging dance theatre of the humorous and the somtimes not
so humorous.
Lisa joined Ffin Dance in 2005. After attending Edinburgh's Telford College she
trained at the London Contemporary Dance School and has since performed
with C12 Dance Theatre, The Pair Company, Freefall Physical
Theatre,Parasite Theatre Company and XS Dance Theatre.
Lisa created a
site-specific work, Elddup in June 2007 which was shown at The Sassoon
Gallery and at Cloud Dance Festival: Fly By Night.
Marija Krtolica is an independent choreographer, performer &
certified yoga teacher. Over the past ten years Marija has shown her
work in New York City in venues such as Judson Church, Dixon place,
Brecht Forum, Washington Square United Methodist Church, Locus
Gallery, Context space (Highway Initiative), Construction Company, Raw
Space Theatre, Broom St. Studio etc.
MIKS is a dance collective formed by Anaïs Bouts, Sara Lindstrom and
Ida Uvaas in 2005. MIKS is intended to be a vehicle for artists to
create work collectively, independently and by bringing in external
choreographers and collaborators. Through this collaborative approach,
MIKS aim to create an intimacy between performers and audience, and
explore the relationship between the two in their provocative and
entertaining performances.
The company started in 2007 with The raising of Lazzaro, a solo
dance theatre piece that was successfully presented in Milan for the
opening of Moavero Art Studio. After this rewarding experience, the
company started working on Love for sale, which was successfully presented as part of Resolution!2008.
Olivia is Swedish/Maltese. She has a degree in Anthropology from the
University of Malta. She trained at the Danceworkshop in Malta with
Francesca Abela-Tranter and danced with Contact Dance Company from 2003
to 2005 before completing her training at Scottish School of
Contemporary Dance.
Olivia is currently working on her own company project called
"rancidance", and will be joining Smallpetitklein as an apprentice
dancer in June 2008.
Project Mashed Potato is a dynamic new performance company. Founded by
Dancer/Choreographer Rachel Birch-Lawson and Composer/Musician Jack
James, Project Mashed Potato’s collective artistic talent focus on
collaboration to develop choreographed and improvised work and run
improvisation jams, developing an ever widening audience for dance
performance. They are committed to creating engaging, stimulating work
that forges links between different artistic disciplines.
Rancidance was formed in January 2008 by Olivia Vella. It aims to perform a variety of fresh, original work that communicates clearly with its audience. Works to date include 'Human Waste', 'Methieal', 'Brush on Silk' and 'Down'. Rancidance will be touring 'Am X' from September.

Debbie Shine formed Shine On in July 2005 as a performance company. In
2007 at Riverside Studios, she worked collaboratively with Cann Dance
on a re-working of the classical ballet La Bayadere, entitled A Shade
of Brown.
In 2006 a piece was commissioned by Hammersmith Women’s Aid as a
celebration of 30 years of providing a safe house for women fleeing
domestic violence, and a darker, alternative version of this piece was
performed at The Place in the same year.
I am a 29 year old dancer and choreographer coming from Athens, Greece.
I have trained in Ballet, Graham, Cunningham, Release, and Contact
Improvisation. I have been awarded a scholarship from the State
Scholarship Foundation of Greece (IKY) to fund my postgraduate dance
studies in England. I completed a Master in European Dance Theatre
Practice at Laban, London and I am currently doing practice-based
research at the University of Surrey leading to a PhD.
Vex explores the point where dance meets theatre, playing with the
tension between body and text. Using this shared space to comment on
contemporary society, we invite our audience to question assumptions of
the world around them. Taking inspiration from as wide a spectrum as
possible, Vex, through rigorous investigation strives to make work that
connects with and comments on the real world. Through highly physical
and energised choreography we endeavour to make creative, engaging and
unpretentious work.
Vilas con Krilas is a company with an experimental and
multidisciplinary approach to performance. Their movement language is
rooted in contemporary dance but choreographer Helga Stromberger
usually blends in elements of other dance forms and prefers to create
dances that defy categorization.
Werkstart first came together as a project organized in 2004, creating
the performance Ubersetzen Uber-setzen, a dance and music collaboration.
Werkstart is not formed as a company, but a sort of collective or
organization of people created in order to nurture a creative
environment for artistic dialogue, sharing of knowledge, investigation
of new ideas and partnerships. Within Werkstart there are several
ongoing forms of activities, such as, producing performance, teaching
and exploring movement and dance with young and elderly in different
contexts.

been co-founded by Laure Bachelot and Christian From, they performed their first
workas part of Resolution! 2007.
